The festival will showcase over 200 wines from around the world, including South Africa, Italy, and of course, Texas. Haak Winery, Tilford Winery, Barefoot Wine & Bubbly, Calais Winery, Braman Winery, and Texas Legato are just a few of the featured wineries participating in the festival.
A host of specialty food, novelty and accessory merchants has been carefully selected to provide unique offerings to the wine-lover in all of us. Additionally, many of Houston’s finest restaurants including Maggiano’s Little Italy, PF Chang’s, California Pizza Kitchen and more will be on-hand, cooking up their favorite dishes to compliment the many and varied wine samplings that will be available at the festival. Enjoy a variety of live entertainment throughout the weekend by The Billie Ledbetter Orchestra, DJ Alex C, Latin band SonTumbao, jazz sounds by Dean James, and blues by Luther and the Healers. Bienvenido España! The Lakewood Women’s Ministry is bringing you a fabulous evening to remember filled with glamour, excitement, intrigue, and allure to celebrate the beauty we share as women! This year the fashion show will take place in the amazing main sanctuary as you enjoy “An Evening in Spain”! You will be dazzled and delighted from the start, as the evening is kicked-off promptly at 7:00 p.m., with the most spectacular Fashion Show ever! Following the show, you are invited to enjoy delicious, “Tapas on the Veranda” and the entire second level will be transformed into the Madrid Marketplace with 40 shops full of wonderful and rare gifts, clothing, accessories and more. Dolce Mia is proud to be a vendor, so please stop by our booth and sample some of our great smelling soap and lotion!

Houston Restaurant Week has been extended until Sept 6! Houstonians can savor the best of the city’s culinary scene. This premier philanthropic culinary event benefits the Houston Food Bank. The city-wide event, established in 2003, provides diners with the opportunity to sample special menus at Houston’s fine restaurants, while helping fight hunger in Houston.
This year, Houston Restaurant Week, one of the most successful charity dining events in the country, showcases 130 restaurants, spanning popular favorites to new hotspots. All participating restaurants will offer a prix-fixe, three-course** gourmet dinner menu for $35 per person, with $5 of each dinner sold benefiting the Houston Food Bank. New to Houston Restaurant Week 2010, select restaurants will also offer two-course*** lunch menus for $20, donating $3 of each lunch sold to the Houston Food Bank.
